NMYBO Program Outline
K-1st Grade Girls & Boys Program
Everyone,
No Basketball this Saturday 3/6/2010.
I am pleased to let you all know that we were able to get gym space at Northville on Saturday March 13, 2010 at our normal times, 12:30 K-1 girls, 1:30 K Boys, and 2:30 1st Grade boys. I am sorry for any inconvenience last weeks cancelation may have caused. IF THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED ON FRIDAY THE GYM IS NOT AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY.

We will be handing out individual participation trophies and playing games for the entire final session.

- Saturday Afternoons at Northville School: October 31, 2009 To February 27, 2010, (12) Weeks.
- (Basketball: 10/31/2009; 11/7/2009; 11/14/2009;12/5/2009; 12/12/2009; 12/19/2010;
- 1/9/2010; 1/23/2010; 1/30/2010; 2/6/2010; 2/20/2010; 3/13/2010.

- We will Try to create (3) Separate Leagues divided by Grade and Gender:
- (K-1st Grade Girls League & Kindergarten Boys League & 1st Grade Boys League).
- Probable Time Slots: (Subject to change based on Registration Numbers for each respective Grade and Gender). Sessions are 1-Hour, Registration Fee is $ 65.00 per Child.
- K-1st Grade Girls: (12:30 PM To 1:30 PM); Kindergarten Boys: (1:30 PM To 2:30 PM);
- 1st Grade Boys League: (2:30 PM To 3:30 PM)
- 1st (4) Sessions will be for Basketball Skills & Drills (10/3109 To 12/5/09):
Dribbling, Shooting, Passing & Defense, Game Rules, Evaluation of Players, and the development
of Teams. Friend Form: Kids want to play with their friends. We provide a "Friend Form" before Teams
are formed. Parents can list several friends & when Teams are chosen will strive to make sure that at least
one friend is on your child's Team.
- Sessions 5 through 12: (12/12/2010 To 3/13/2010):
- First (20) Minutes will consist of Team Practice & Individual Team Drills and Skills Development. The last (40) Minutes will comprise (3 on 3) Games progressing to (5 on 5) Full Court Games as the season advances.
- Basketball will be “SIZE-5” - 27.5” Diameter Ball, 8-Foot Baskets, (2) Diagonal Courts at Northville to be utilized simultaneously in same Time Slots. We will also use "Mini-Balls" to help
- develop proper dribbling and Shooting Form.
- Purpose of this Program: Instructional League, meant to develop Basketball Skills and understanding of the game. We hope to provide a fun and rewarding experience for all participants so that everyone gets the same amount of playing time and everyone learns the correct way to play the game.
- Playing Time: Every Player will play the same amount of time based on the NMYBO Game Time EXCEL Spreadsheet Matrix. (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) Player Matrix Sheets will be distributed to each Coach of each Team to guarantee this policy.

- Parent Volunteers: Coaches will be selected by the Director. All Volunteers are welcome, we can have as many Assistant Coaches that wish to help in the program. Please express your interest at Evaluations on Saturday Sept. 12 th ; Friday Sept. 18th & SaturdaySept. 19 th .
- Team Jersey: Every Child will receive a reversible jersey (poly green/white jersey w/ NMYBO Logo & number) and a season ending trophy.
- No Scores Kept: The score is not kept during games. This allows everyone to relax, and just learn to love the game of Basketball and have fun with his or her friends.
